Emerald Passport Statement - November 12, 2008

This statement is in response to the fact that, in the past two weeks, it has come to our attention that falsehoods and blatant misinformation regarding Emerald Passport have surfaced on the web. A number of innocent people are being impacted by these unfounded rumors and we therefore have no other alternative but to react.

From the very outset, we categorically deny having had any knowledge of the activities carried on by Mr. James Alexander McQuirter for which he was convicted over 25 years ago. It has been reported that Mr. McQuirter has served time in prison and paid the price for his illegal actions.

Mr. McQuirter joined Emerald Passport under the name James Alexander, first as a customer in 2005 and then as an independent distributor and, from time to time, was contracted as a marketing consultant. Mr. Alexander presented himself with considerable credibility since he came from the financial services industry where he occupied an executive post. Never did Mr. James Alexander reveal his past to us nor did his manner or behavior provide any possible clue as to his past. When Emerald Passport became aware of James Alexander’s past actions and associations, his consultant services were no longer retained.

Prior to the Emerald Passport event for which he was falsely reported to have occupied center stage, Mr. James Alexander no longer had any business relationship with Emerald Passport aside from being a product customer. Mr. James Alexander did not host the event; he showed up at the event of his own accord and solely in the capacity of an attendee.

This said, Emerald Passport formally and emphatically denies, refutes and rejects the unfounded insinuations that Emerald Passport, its presidents, personnel, distributors and customers are, in any way associated with Mr. McQuirter’s past or share the subversive views that lead to his legal problems.

Emerald Passport deeply regrets this entire incident and the hardship that it may have caused our past presidents whose reputations with that of our staff and distributors are without blemish, namely Messrs. Alonso de la Guardia and Jaime Figueroa who, we must insist, had absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of Mr. McQuirter’s reprehensible activities of over 25 years ago.

As well, Emerald Passport deeply regrets the hardship caused to all its distributors, including Messrs. James Rivas and Sam Lajic who have been directly targeted through the broadcasting of falsehoods and misinformation.

Emerald Passport reaffirms that, in the years it has been in business, it has held itself to high standards of honesty and respect for all persons, regardless of nationality, race, color, faith, religion and creed, and that, to this day, our organization not only stands for diversity, tolerance, progress and success for all, but whole-heartedly embraces such ideals with a view to bettering the lives of all who come into contact with our products.

On a final note, we wish to assure our membership that Emerald Passport is in the process of introducing comprehensive verification procedures to vet the background of the people we do business with, with a view to avoiding future incidents of this nature.
